MCKINNEY, Texas—November 18, 2015—The Community Lifeline Center, a non-profit organization that provides a emergency assistance for individuals and families in crisis, has announced the selection of Brian Marques as executive director and Karen Derr as case manager.
Marques joins Community Lifeline with years of exceptional non-profit leadership. He holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. “Brian brings a renewed enthusiasm and a wealth of experience in the non-profit world, particularly in development,” Angie Bado, president of the Community Lifeline Center’s Board of Directors, said.
“As we conclude what has been a very successful year, in 2016 we look to welcome back those who have been a part of the Community Lifeline family for some time and engage new supporters who wish to become involved in our campaign to address our community’s most urgent needs,” Marques said.
Karen Derr is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with a Master’s of Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has over 17 years of social work experience in a variety of areas. “I am extremely excited to be a part of the Community Lifeline Center and am looking forward to assisting those in need in McKinney and the surrounding areas,” says Derr. “I hope to help our clients either maintain a stable household or regain the firm footing needed to do so.”
“Karen is a seasoned social worker and we are fortunate to have her as part of the CLC staff,” said Bado. “Her energy and caring spirit will certainly be a positive addition.”
