Save the Date! Empty Bowls McKinney Is Almost Here

Empty Bowls Logo 2015Join the Community Lifeline Center on April 16, 2015, to support initiatives to eradicate hunger in Collin County.  Empty Bowls is an annual event at which local vendors provide professionally made soups.  For a small donation, you can enjoy supper and then choose a bowl made and donated by local artists.  Where else can you have dinner and take the dish home?

The event on April 16 will be at the McKinney Performing Arts Center, 111 N. Tennessee St., McKinney, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.

Local vendors providing food and drink this year are Bayou Jack’s Cajun Grill, Caudalie Crest Winery, Churchill’s British Restaurant and Pub, McKinney Culinary Incubator, McKinney’s Sweet Spot, Mellow Mushroom, Patina Green, Rick’s Chophouse, SNUG on the Square, Square Burger, The Pantry Restaurant, and Tupps Brewery.

Funds will be used to supply the shelves of the Community Lifeline Center’s Market so that eligible residents of Collin County who are experiencing hard times can receive help.  The CLC Market was launched in 2014 and, since its opening, over 1,000 people have been given access to box fans, diapers, blankets, heaters, over 21,000 pounds of food and 6,145 household/hygiene items.

Sponsors of EMPTY BOWLS are St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Independent Bank, SPARC Pottery Studio and Gallery, City of McKinney, The Parks Church, and Square One.

See you on the McKinney Square on Thursday, April 16.
